All West Australian Opera education programs are designed to align with West Australian Curriculum and can be tailored to meet specific educational needs. Below are just some examples of curriculum aims which our programs address.

The Arts

  • Developing confidence, empathy, self-awareness, thoughtfulness, curiosity, critical and creative thinking, reflective practice skills, and a willingness take risks and explore self-expression.
  • Developing respect for, and appreciation of [dance, drama, music, media arts, visual arts], its processes, history, traditions, cultural significance, and role in the contemporary world.
  • Learning how to respond as critical and active participants and audience members, and discovering how interpretation of [dance, drama, music, media arts, visual arts] creates meaning for audiences.

Languages

  • Understand language, culture, learning and their relationship
